- Current sanitation situation in target countries
By Lara Martens
The BORDA-IWA conference on „Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Solutions in Developing Countries”, March 23-25 Surabaya 2010, is a unique opportunity to further promote DEWATS and the BORDA-network’s expertise to an audience of global sanitation key-stakeholders. Demand for DEWATS solutions will continue to grow over the next years since decentralized wastewater treatment and community-based sanitation solutions are currently at the brink of being regarded as “mainstream”. Therefor the focus of this conference is timely and much in demand, not only on the technical, engineering components for decentralized systems, but on the social, institutional and financial variables.
